Who are Kimble's?

We are a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and our music loving team are all mum’s themselves and fully CRB Checked. We have been delivering successful music sessions for 4 years now with over 600 children a week attending our sessions in the local area. As well as public sessions we also offer the experience in many of the local nursery’s and playgroups as well as regularly running sessions for Surestart, libraries and children’s centres. Training is also provided by Kimble’s for child care students via the local colleges.
What can we offer?

The content we use is always fresh, topical, appropriate, lively and most of all fun and it is an excellent training opportunity for the staff as well. The children will be captivated by the many puppets and props used which are safe and carefully chosen for their quality and bright colours.

Using a variety of music from around the world we perform a toe tapping, foot stomping, thigh slapping, tummy tickling, hand clapping, instrument playing, lycra pulling, parachute waving, bottom wriggling fun filled experience for both carers and children alike.

The sessions follow a standard format with the songs and music changing every 3 to 4 weeks. We always start with a hello song and finish with a goodbye song and each child is given a Kimble’s sticker for participating.

Why is music important for young children?

♪ Children of preschool age love to imitate others, love to lead, love to respond with whole body actions and love multi stimulus.

♪ They learn better when they are having fun, and are hungry for new ideas and stimulation.

♪ Their bodies and brains develop in accordance with the amount of stimulation.

♪ Before age 5, connections in the brain grow at the fastest rate of the child’s life. For the child, music sessions are opportunities to:

♪ Have fun

♪ Sing and enjoy the sound their voice makes.

♪ Dance, move, develop coordination and spatial awareness as they learn to drive their body.

♪ Listen, react and develop sensitive responses to different types of music

♪ Develop skills for daily life: listening to instruction, language, sound discrimination, sequencing and memory

♪ Develop group co-operation and socialization skills, including taking turns, sharing and appreciating other peoples ideas.

The parents/carers
